This talk will reflect on the current events and multi-use policies affecting Grand Staircase and dive deeper into the topic of recreation and how low-impact conservation minded recreation (especially in the backcountry) can benefit these areas and support policies to protect them. Morgan weaves in stories directly from the backcountry of Grand Staircase to serve both as examples and inspiration throughout the presentation. Ultimately, listeners should be able to get out into Grand Staircase either on a route they've never explored or taking on their favorite route in a new way while utilizing examples of low impact and conservation focused recreation on their next trip!
