Bat Fest is Back!
Come to the Wahweap Amphitheater for a fun filled evening of bat activities and prizes. On Saturday, July 22nd, Glen Canyon Natural History Association will be partnering with Glen Canyon Park Service to host the 2nd Annual Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Bat Festival from 5pm - 10pm.
Everyone is invited to this family friendly event to learn more about bats, how they help the environment, and how we can help them. Children are invited participate in activities and crafts as well as bat house building demos for people of all ages. There are also educational booths, a raffle, door prizes, guest presentations, and a night time bat walk through Wahweap.
- 5 - 8pm enjoy festival booths and activities int he Wahweap Amphitheater parking lot
- 7:20pm join rangers for a children's walk to discover early evening bats
- 8 - 9pm learn more about bats in Glen Canyon and around the country during live presentations
- 9 - 10pm take a walk after dark with park rangers to listen for bats using high tech equipment
Come out to celebrate the hardest working night team of pest controllers and pollinators in Glen Canyon. There's a lot to learn about bats and how they help make life on the lake pleasant for visitors and residents.
