What's the Potential?

At left is the Warners Nursery Greenhouses in Page, AZ.

You don't need a lot of high tech equipment to grow plants in Page, AZ. A little protection from the wind, a little moisture and then let the sun provide the energy. The winters in Page are mild enough that seedlings started in the fall will continue to grow slowly through the winter as greenhouse temperatures fluctuate between 25°F and 60°F depending on the cloud cover and ambient temperatures.

There's no reason to waste fossil fuels and expensive heating dollars trying to keep the greenhouse temperature at a constant 75°F.

And plants that are 'hardened-off' survive better when transplanted.
