Rainbow Bridge National Monument Hiking to Rainbow Bridge For those wishing to hike, you may obtain permits from the Navajo Nation in advance by contacting them. It is a 14 mile one-way trip from Navajo Mountain to the Bridge. You will then need to arrange transportation from Rainbow Bridge by boat, or hike back out. Either way, carry plenty of water as springs can be unreliable. A good set of maps is essential. Many an experienced hiker has gotten lost, so plan ahead and be prepared. It can be the hike of a lifetime!
